The Rest spent the last year and a half writing and recording their second album Everyone All At Once. From drunken nights out in the wilderness to drunken nights in dark basements of the city, these guys ended up making some beautiful music out of what sounds like a pretty isolated lifestyle. I like all kinds of music, including some sloppy ass noise rock, but The Rest has made an album full of carefully placed sounds. Every pluck of a string or crack of a drum sounds completely deliberate, which makes for some really good songs that don't take months of thinking "what the fuck" before you finally get it. You know what I mean? The lead singer's voice is whiny (that's a good thing sometimes) and keeps every moment of vocals exciting by bouncing up and down like a hyperactive kid on a trampoline.
Check out a couple of my favorite songs from the album, and if you like it look out for the release in April. (I was only supposed to post one of these, but couldn't choose. Sorry to the band, but I really like your music! Let me know if you want me to take one down.)
The Rest - Sheep In Wolves' Clothing
The Rest - Walk On Water

I love their sound. It's good to hear indie rock that doesn't have all kinds of sound effects and synths in it.
