Juelz Santana ft. Jim Jones - "Harlem Forever" & Thoughts On The Unofficial Remix

I can't front, I like this. And I didn't want to. I'm sick of a track like "Forever" coming out and everybody getting on it. No, I don't need to hear Bow Wow on "A Milli". I'd rather not listen to Papoose go in over "Paper Planes", and please Lil Mama - leave "Swagger Like Us" alone.

Somewhere along the line, I lost the point of the unofficial remix. It seemed to start with emcees going in over beats they liked...cool. Then it developed into emcees going in over a beat that someone else already went on as a way to prove their superiority. Still, cool.

Then eventually it was like "Okay, there's going to be 5 songs a year that everyone is obligated to go in on". This is when I lost the point. "Paper Planes" was a good song, guys. I liked it. I think it will be at least 2 years before I can listen to it again. And now, it seems like a lot of fuckers are just going in over songs with the mentality that "This song is super popular, maybe I can get some attention by remixing it." No, motherfucker. Rhyming over a good song and making it worse makes you seem even weaker than your lame ass probably is. With all these different intentions, I don't know anymore. I skip over the shit most of the time.

Don't mind the rant. No shots at people who pick out beats that they like, rhyme over it, and make a dope mixtape track. A lot of the time, it works. That being said, here's Juelz and Jimmy Jones going in over the "Forever" beat and sounding pretty nice doing it. Some dude named Tobb Cobain on the chorus. (I don't know what a Tobb Cobain is.)

I totally cosign what you saying. I mean look in the past month. How many people went over Run This Town? a lot of b-list rappers go over popular songs because they can't make a hit on their own

Yeah I like it. I know they stole Drake's little rhyme scheme, but I think they sound nice over this beat. I don't know. It's already in my recycle bin haha but I did enjoy listening to it.
