Video! Chris Brown MTV Interview

Oh yeah, apparently Chris Brown had an interview too. Weird. Doesn't he have an album coming out too? I didn't even watch this one after I saw Chris Brown was wearing a beanie. You're on television answering questions about beating your girlfriend and you're gonna wear a fucking beanie? Didn't he learn from all the criticism about the oversized bowtie on Larry King? I'm half kidding. But seriously.

Videos! Rihanna 20/20 Interview

Here's some clips from the Rihanna interview last night. What did you guys think of the interview? I haven't really formed an opinion yet. Seeing that she has an album dropping later this month, I think it was a publicity move, but it seems like a lot of people got a good message out of it, and I guess that can't hurt.

Video + MP3! Bassment Jaxx ft. Lightspeed Champion - "My Turn"

Cool video for a cool track. How come the coolest music videos are the ones that you'll never see on television? Oh well, one day there will be a P&P Channel. And it's gonna be fucking amazing. By the way, I've got all these crazy ideas (that I'm serious about). If you know people in the industry or whatever and want to make something happen, hit me up! Email me. Twitter. Cell Phone.

Don't sleep on this one. Del (Hieroglyphics), Gift Of Gab (Blackalicious), and Brother Ali (the albino on Rhymesayers) on one track? Gift Of Gab has one of those rapid fire flows that always impressed, Brother Ali fills every line with passion and heart, and Del The Funky Homosapien has one of the dopest voices in hip hop. Beat! Beat! Beat! - "Fireworks"

This song is great! The guitar part is like a swarm of strings zipping around in a tightly knit cluster. NME calls these guys Germany's answer to the Foals. With a Los Campesinos-type chant along section, those wild guitars, a beat that will get your blood flowing and a fat ass bass line, this song is definitely making it to my iTunes. I'm going to be looking out for Beat! Beat! Beat! in the future.

Video! Pixies On The Tonight Show

Usually when my favorite artists are on late night shows I know about it. I was totally surprised when the Pixies appeared on Conan O'Brien's Tonight Show. It was a great performance. Even as an older woman, Kim Deal's voice is still sexy! Shit, even as an older band, the Pixies still sound awesome. Thanks to TCB for the heads up. If you missed it, the Pixies recently gave out a free EP. Grab it here.

CL-SiCK - "M.D.M.A"

CL-SiCk is only 18 but he's been doing this shit for a while and it shows. Plus he seems like the type of person you'd want to see come out on top, so check him out.

Heres the second single off the Highly Anticipated Debut from CL-SiCK , "So Far Kid About Nothing". CL teams up with producer Kajmir Royale on this synthy upbeat anthem. Keep in touch with CL on www.twitter.com/clsick and www.myspace.com/njsound.

Shakira ft. KiD CuDi - "She Did It Again"

She-Wolf will be in stores November 23rd. Saw it at 2DB. It's pretty straight forward Shakira style pop song, but with a little more synths (who isn't using more synths these days?) and a big chorus. Oh yeah, and Cudder's in it. He adlibs a little throughout the song and then gets a verse towards the end.

Trailer! The Carter Documentary

Here's a documentary to the upcoming documentary about Lil Wayne called The Carter. I've heard good things about this documentary. Apparently it goes past all the glamour and gets into Wayne as a person (if that's possible). It also deals heavily with his syrup sipping. Whenever I get my hands on some codeine laced syrup I get all excited and chug it, but it always leads to a night full of really, really bad itching all over my body and the next day is spent dizzy and stumbling. Pretty sure I'm allergic. Pretty sure I'll never learn my lesson. If they don't want people to abuse it, they shouldn't make it so delicious.

Vetiver - "More Of This" (Neighbours Remix)

Cheerful, Vamp Weekend-like guitars, and the feeling of opening your windows on a sunny Saturday afternoon and sipping on something refreshing. Unfortunately when I turn my heat off I shiver like a vibrator. I'll save this one for summer 2010, or until I go on vacation. Thanks to RCRD LBL.

Videos! Felt 3 with Ray Shemersy (Slug, Murs, and Aesop Rock)

Haha I had to post this. Parts 1, 2 and 3 of the Felt interview with Ray Shemersy. Felt 3 is coming out November 17th, with Slug (of Atmosphere) and Murs (of Living Legends) on vocals. This time around Aesop Rock is on duty as the producer. Preorder that shit here. (Do it! I'm doing it!) As I was typing this I realized Ray Shemersy is Rhyme Sayers scrambled. Haha so corny but I'm still very excited for this album. Saw it on 2DB. Felt 3!

Here are the guys taking questions from fans and having way too much fun.

T-Pain - "Crazy"

Going from classic Typical Cats to new T-Pain? Okay. Can I throw a "P&P, bitches!" in there? Thanks to Wing Span. This one sounds like it's unfinished. We'll see if an updated version comes out in the future. T-Pain is like a fucking hit machine, and this one is no different. I think once he plugs in the chorus (and maybe a rapper somewhere in the last minute?) it's gonna make some noise. If you're not into T-Pain, this one's probably not going to change your mind.

Typical Cats - "Qweloquiallisms"

Alright, I made a comment about Qwel earlier, one of my favorite underground emcees from my high school days, and it got a positive response from Derrik. Qwel was one of the emcees in Typical Cats from Chicago. Their first self titled album was one of those albums that shaped my opinions on music from that point on. Jazzy beats, three completely different and unique emcees, and an album that you can listen to from front to back without skipping a fucking track.

It's the kind of album that you listen to once and pick out your favorite tracks. Then you listen again and suddenly something else stands out. My favorite song on that album has probably rotated between 7 or 8 tracks on the album depending on when you asked me. Qwel, who was always the standout emcee to me, has gone on to do some solo albums, and they are good, but I'll warn you - they are pretty out there. Don't even bother if your mind isn't split wide open.

Anyways, maybe I'm underestimating the readers. I like to post all kinds of shit on P&P, but I guess sometimes I lean towards shit that I think will be well received. Fuck it, tonight I'm giving you one of my favorite tracks from a handful of years ago. This is a solo Qwel track off of the Typical Cats album I was talking about. When I first heard it, I didn't like it, but somewhere between my 3rd and 20th listen of the album this song clicked. Qwel is the type of lyricist that can slaughter motherfuckers with the punchlines and freestyles, but if you've followed his career you can gather that he'd much rather go deep with lyrics that are closer to poetry and further from battle raps. But no matter what his style is, his delivery is nuts. Like all great lyricists (see: Eminem, Big L, Eyedea) words slide off his tongue like razor blades.

Enough talk, I could ramble about this shit for hours, but I guess it comes down to your opinion. I just ask that you give it a few tries. Here is "Qweloquiallisms". Let me know what you think.

Monsters Of Folk - "Dear God" Live With The Roots

Monsters Of Folk perform one of my favorite songs off their album with the motherfuckin' Roots! Okay! Here is "Dear God (Sincerely MOF)" on Jimmy Fallon's show. Having ?uestlove sitting behind you automatically makes you a little cooler.

Hawksley Workman - "Maniacs"

I'm a little late on this one. Like 10 years late. But it's not my fault. Hawksley Workman's debut album For Him and the Girls, which was recorded in 1999, is being released for the first time in the US on November 17th. If I didn't tell you that, you would have never guessed by listening to the song. It's so eccentric that you could light it on fire and the smoke would probably be crayola green swirls. The reason I opened the email in the first place was because the title was "Insanity + Drum Kit + Yodeling = Irresistable Maniacs". Yodeling? Yeah. Yodeling.

Darwin Deez - "Radar Detector" and "Bad Day"

Darwin Deez is an NYC artist that's been getting a lot of buzz lately with his quirky brand of indie pop. I'm not encouraging you to judge people based on their looks, but if you tried to guess what Darwin Deez sounded like by looking at the above picture, you'd probably be pretty close. The vocals sound a little like Ben Kweller, the music includes guitars, electronic drums, and handclaps and the sound is both simple and highly entertaining. Check it out.

Rihanna Breaks Silence On Chris Brown Incident!

Basically, what I got out of this is, she still loves & wants to be w/ Chris, which is why she went back to him a few weeks after the incident. But she didn't want to give the wrong message to her young female fans, which is why she left his a$$ again. So if she wouldn't of been a mega star, they would've still been one!

It's good that she is a mega star tho; that possibly prevented her from another beating. Not saying Chris would've beat her again, but if it was only them two who knew about it, who knows?!? Her taking him back is like a green light to him saying that he could do it again. But yea, this was certainly very brave of her.

Ok! Boom Boom Satellites is a rather dope electronic/rock band duo from Tokyo Japan. Got it? Good!

New! Jamie Foxx ft. Gucci Mane - "Speak French"

Jamie Foxx and Gucci Mane wouldn't be my 1st and 2nd, 3rd and 4th, etc. choices to hear on a track, but the production by Bangladesh definitely makes this one worth checking out. Who Is Alex King?

This last post of the Lil Wayne, Shanell, and Alex King track got a lot of people talking about Alex King. After getting a little more information on the man, it became clear that this is not just another dude who got lucky and somehow nabbed a Wayne verse. Alex King is an Italian Dominican rapper, producer, and video director from Nashville, TN with a crazy life story and animal-like mic control. Above is a video he recently directed. According to some inside info, right now there's a bidding war going on between Cash Money and Interscope for a deal. Keep a look out for Alex King.

New! Spoon - "Mystery Zone"

If you're a Spoon fan, you are gonna smile the second you hit play.

This song is the complete Spoon experience. It's catchy enough without being obnoxious, and it's got that crisp sound quality that Spoon is known for. New elements keep popping up throughout the song to keep things interesting in the simple structured tune. I'm loving this song so far, and it has me even more excited for Transference, out next month. Thanks to Will for the heads up.

Video! N.E.R.D Performs New Song On 90210

Apparently N.E.R.D performed a new song on 90210. The song title could be "Radio" or "WTF". My question is: Are there a lot of N.E.R.D fans watching 90210? I don't know, maybe. Anyways, song sounds pretty cool to me. I might enjoy it more without those shots of the crowd shooting each other suggestive glances and nodding their vacant heads. What do you think (About the song. I don't really care how you feel about 90210)? Thanks to Shake.

Video! The Antlers - "Kettering"

Here's a fan made video for The Antler's "Kettering", one of the most moving songs of the year. The video is a series of both awesome and appropriate photographs. If you've got a minute turn the lights off and check it out. As Muzzle Of Bees said perfectly:

This song, as you’ll find with the rest of The Antlers catalog, is staggering and introspective. You can feel the lump forming in your throat.

Video! D-Black Ft. Skyzoo - "The Come Up"

Nothing but the truth! As an up and comer in the rap game, it is very similar to the crack game! It's competitive & you have to hustle hard. D-Black teamed up w/ Skyzoo & Illmind on this one & they couldn't of broke it down for ya'll any better!

This joint will be on D-Black & Illmind's upcoming collaborative project, which is untitled at the moment, but you can also find it on Illmind's latest project titled *Blaps, Rhymes & Life*.

Video! Tegan and Sara on Conan O'Brien

Been hearing a lot about this performance, so I had to check it out. Although I've known about them for a while, I've never really been up on the identical twins (To be honest, for some reason I thought they were lesbians. Obviously I wasn't paying very good attention.) They are getting a lot of love lately. Here they are performing "Hell" off their new album Sainthood. Thanks to JP. What do you guys think? Should I be keeping track of Tegan and Sara?

Note: So, they are lesbians. Maybe I was paying attention. But I thought they were lesbians in a relationship with eachother, and hopefully that's not true since they are identical twins. But hey, it's 2k9, anything goes.

Video! Young Dro ft. Yung L.A. - "I Don't Know Y'all"

Cool looking video! I really like whatever they used to get that grainy, high contrast look. Gets crazy at 1:45. “I Don’t Know Y’all” is the first single off Dro’s upcoming album P.O.L.O. (Players Only Live Once), out December 22nd.

Saw it at YHTN. This balances on a very thin line between a fitness video and porn. Actually, no, it doesn't. Pretty sure you could call this porn.

Soooooooo…I promised you guys that when I got past 20,000 friends on Twitter…I would have another STRETCHING VIDEO for you guys. Well…now I’m up for 26,000+, and I wanted to make sure I showed everyone how much I appreciate it! So….me! Rosa! New Video…just for you!!!

Here's a video of Lil Wayne talking about the No Ceilings mixtape before it came out. Gotta say I'm really feeling this mixtape. It's a departure from the sing-alongs, heavy guest spots, and autotune that has made a lot of people hate Wayne (even more) and a return to "The Mixtape Weezy" that we've been missing. The xx - "You've Got The Love" (Florence and the Machine Cover)

Tough crowd today. Too hungover to comment? I understand. Try hanging your head upside down over the side of your bed/couch/roof for a couple minutes. It usually makes me feel better, because nothing is worse than being upside down when you're hungover. Then you sit up and suddenly everything isn't so bad.

I'm a little late on this one, but I just listened and really liked it. It's breakout act The xx covering Florence and the Machine's "You've Got The Love". The beat in this song is crisp as fuck. A rapper should get on this. By the way, if you haven't checked out The xx's album yet, you should get on that. Got it at TMH.

This is the first song to surface from ‘Down To Earth’ and gives you an impression of Span’s ability as an artist: powerful presence for a youngster, a well-constructed flow and a captivating autobiographical insight. The beat is by Thelonious and it’s HARD.

The Black Keys ft. Raekwon - "Stay Off The Fuckin Flowers"

If you haven't heard of the Dame Dash Blackroc project, it's 11 hip hop artists going at it with the bluesy backing of The Black Keys. It's a sick concept with a great line up, so it's hard to imagine this project being anything but awesome. Thanks to Sound Verite.

Lil Wayne - No Ceilings (Updated, 4 New Tracks)

Here is Lil Wayne's No Ceilings in full, high quality sound. The mixtape leaked a little while ago, then Wayne announced that it was unfinished and would be released in full on Halloween in better sound quality and with more tracks. I'm still pretty sure that he just didn't like that it leaked early so he went in and recorded more songs. Either way, it's a great mixtape, so it might be worth it to delete your old copy and grab this one. Thanks to Nah Right.

Note: This mixtape doesn't have an official tracklist yet, so the songs may be out of order. When it's updated I'll switch out the links. Should be today.

Wale ft. Rihanna - "Contemplate"

I hope everyone had a good Halloween. New York City on Halloween night is pretty crazy. And what the hell happened to the time? Did we gain an hour or am I going crazy? Here's the last song I'm gonna post from Wale's Attention Deficit. Buy that shit November 10th.
