Music discovery is at the heart of the P&P mission. Over the years we've tried so many ways to keep submissions open to ALL artists, no matter their location or connections. Email addresses get overwhelmed with blasts from PR companies and labels, phishing attempts, and odd emails from bird enthusiasts.
Since we relaunched our website in January, with a dedicated page for submissions, nearly 4,000 of you have sent in songs and videos for consideration. We appreciate every single person who created something and decided to share it with us.
We’re a small team and the links fly in thick and fast, but we do our best to comb through them regularly and share what’s resonating. It’s an (admittedly) disorganized and DIY process, but there’s nothing like finding a new favorite song in the depths of the submissions spreadsheet.
Here are 14 of our favorite submissions direct from artists and their teams. Look out for this to be a regularly recurring feature and submit your own music to Pigeons & Planes here.

What should we know?
My previous project, L4TA, is a tale of death and rebirth. “Anaconda Love” serves as an epilogue proclaiming that peace lies with the self.
The phrase “anaconda love” is a reference to Toni Morrison’s Song of Solomon. Plainly, the song is about abandoning external pursuits of finding love and loving oneself. A snake admires her tail, decides to take a bite, falls in love with the taste, but will she stop? The snake could devour itself to the point of non-existence, but the ouroboros represents a type of balance, knowing what’s enough.

I’m a London-based saxophonist, composer, and bandleader creating a distinctive Afro-jazz sound rooted in Yoruba tradition, Afro-diasporic rhythm and contemporary jazz. My music blends carnival energy, spiritual depth and modern improvisation into something that feels both globally connected and unmistakably London.
“Nar Hedjouj,” draws on highlife, funk, and ancestral memory, treating jazz as a space for storytelling, ritual and movement. It’s part of my debut EP Ade Kayode, a project shaped by creative work across the UK, Morocco, Ghana, and Belgium, exploring themes of ancestry, migration, and cultural continuity.

Born in Chicago, Uche’s sound and vision is influenced by constant adaptation and continual evolution. At age five, he relocated to mainland Lagos. The first single from his latest EP I left u so u wouldn't be alone is the turnt, apocalyptic trap-tinged anthem “naked & famous.” This EP is the third and final installment in Uche’s blood for blood trilogy, which dropped on J-Cush’s NOWHERE and Uche’s own IDEA RECORDS.

What should we know?
We don't consider ourselves a genre band. We have wide musical and artistic taste, and we make whatever sort of songs we want. Regardless of the feel of the song, we think you can still tell it is us, as everything is imbued with our wacky spirits. We are a trio that loves to perform and our audiences have a lot of fun with us. In the studio we take advantage of the tools available to us, layering our songs with extra vocal harmonies, guitars, and synths. We’re very nice people.

Saburnia's “Even” is a pillar of their upcoming debut album. “Even” represents our human tendency to worry as our feelings for someone grow; the blurred line between the thoughts that ring in our heads and the words that come out. The song’s intensity is represented by guitars strummed so hard that they go out of tune and the moment of silence that occurs just before.

Mark Saunders is a Bronx-born vocalist and rapper, emerging with a distinctive voice shaped by introspection, experimentation, and relentless ambition. Influenced by icons like Lil Wayne, Outkast, XXXTENTACION, Jay-Z, and Eminem, Saunders fuses emotive lyricism with versatile flows and textured soundscapes, creating music that feels both grounded and forward-thinking.
His new project, IN DUE TIME showcases his sharpest lyricism and most compelling sound to date. The project explores themes of breaking free from poverty and overcoming adversity, carried by a strong sense of resilience.

Fresh from a stint in Nourished by Time's live band, thredd’s Max Winter hooked up with fellow thredd-er Will Lister and recruited Sorry frontwoman Asha Lorenz for “Candlelight.” The track also features SE London rapper Rael, for a thrilling track that evokes Injury Reserve and Backxwash.
What should we know?
“Rich Man” is the first single from Hapin’s debut EP The Empress, which draws heavily from the warmth and rhythm of Latin music, woven together with the introspective, somber tones of folk singer-songwriter melodies. Lyrically, it captures the sweetness and innocence of a first love, while quietly foreshadowing the sense of an inevitable unraveling.

What should we know?
“Disco Knows (feat. Igwe Aka)” is the primary track off my latest album House of Funk. The song features a verse from Igwe and funky production from producer shaw00p. The sound of my music can be best described as modern R&B/funk, and this song directly showcases that vibe!
What should we know?
Lecx Stacy is a psychological, philosophical, and romantic artist whose work blurs memory, identity, and sound into something deeply personal. He’s a first-generation Filipino American originally from San Diego and now based in LA. “With You, I’d Be Closer to God” is an emotionally charged blend of emo, folktronica, and electronic textures, written after touring with Sega Bodega and Eartheater.
